For people without insurance, updated Covid-19 shots are no longer free of charge at pharmacies

The rollout of updated Covid-19 vaccines has started in the United States. However, this time the shots will no longer be free for uninsured individuals at local pharmacies. Earlier, the federal government purchased vaccines and made them free for everyone. But, as the shots shifted to the commercial market, the free vaccine program for uninsured adults ended due to lack of federal funding. Now, uninsured people will have to pay for the updated Covid-19 shots at a cost of $201.99. Despite the end of the free vaccine program, state and local health departments still aim to provide access to vaccines for the public.
